Sony Bravia KD-49XE7077 and does not working external subtitles via DLNA

Hello,

I bought Bravia KD-49XE7077 and now I am solving this issue.

Iam using Zyxel NSA 310 - media server Twonky

If I connect with TV to media server I can play a MKV movie but I can not see external subtitles.

SRT subtitles and MKV movie have the same name and are in the same folder.

Anyone know how to fix it?

Thanks a lot!

Hi @faladorcz, welcome to the community

Are the subtitles saved in UTF-8 format?  If not, try saving them in this format and see if that works.

Cheers,

Cass

Perhaps you can use another DLNA server.

I've been using Universal Media Server (UMS) for awhile now and I can wholeheartly recommend it. This is a JAVA written application so perhaps it is available for your NAS too.

I use it as an application on a Windows PC.

UMS transcode files with subtitles. I've used it successfully with Sony W8xxB-series, LG 65EG960V (some large Oled TV) and various Samsung TV's. Since version 6.7.1 it also works with very well with Android-smartphones and tablets (transcoding video with subtitles).

Perhaps this is off any use.

Regards,

Hi,

thanks for answer but it did not help. When the mkv movie is playing I am not able to add subtitles with a button on a controller.
