2 Vaio Notebooks - Network with Internet connection?

Hi Guys,

I have two Vaio's Fe31M and FE41S.

One is connected throu entehrnet cable to the internet. Now I would like to have both connected to internet and have my little home network between the two Vaio's.

Is this possible, without an router? or with router how?

One Vaio has XP Professional and the other Vista Home Pre.

thanks in advance

If you just need the both connected via ethernet you can get a small switch, but if you want it all in one, then the router is the best route (excuse the pun) - plus you get a hardware firewall, which is good.

cheers for the fast reply,

I assumed the router solution already :(((

Hate to set them up and get things to work.

Thanks anyway.

I do want all in one, like internet coming into to one Vaio and than share it with the other throu network, wireless, wired doesn't really matter.

I guess the router is the only way.

Thanks again.

The router would save you having to have both laptops on at the same time, just so the second can have access to the internet (also known as connection bridging).

Linksys are very simple and should cause you minimal problems.
