Assist button not bringing up VAIOcare in Win8.1 Pro

Hi,

Ok this seems to of happened recently as it 'used' to be fine. Firstly, the Assist button boots from cold to the bios fine, so it can't be the physical button.

However in Windows it does nothing. I can go to the shortcut for VAIOcare and it loads up 'almost fine' (by 'almost fine' I notice that when checking the system specs tab, it just returns n/a for all the sections however the bios and the non-desktop version of VAIOcare return the correct product ID etc.

I have repaired and uninstalled/reinstalled VAIOcare but no change... anyone??

Model: SVF152A2EB

Is it just simply missing registry keys? If so what are they?

SOLVED! - It appears that for some reason the VAIO Event Service was set to disabled. When started up and runninng, the button works again.

Also all the system information was displayed properly as well.
