Welcome to the forum,
Go to vaio Link and download the latest drivers for your model and install them especially the audio drivers. If that fails go to the device manager and see if you have an exclamation mark next to the multimedia device. If so delete the driver and reboot and XP will reinstall the correct driver

Hi mate

I found the drivers that you need to download.

http://www.vaio-link.com/downloads/select/select.asp?l=en&category=-1&serie=-1&m=2156

1) Open the link

2) Scroll down to the driver's tab and download the file

3) Extract the file and open it

4) Click Start then Right Click My Computer
then Click Manage

5) Then click on the Device Manager tab then scroll
down to Other Devices

6) Then double click the your PCI-Device (audio card) then click
the Driver tab then click Update Driver

7) IF using service pack 2 select No, Not this time when asked to update the through the internet.

😎 Choose Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)

9) Then select Search for best drivers in these locations

10) Finaly open the location where you stored the drivers that
you downloaded from VAIO-LINK then it should be
searching for a driver.

From experience that comes with time, count to 10 before pressing the keys the text will then make more sense.
