Blue screen of death

Hi all,

recieved the above today strangely.
I've noticed the laptop running very smoothly but after a software update on Windows Update last night... I could not shut down (got stuck on the desktop wallpaper but no icons/taskbar etc)

I forced shutdown after 10minutes but noticed same thing today
When turning it back on, I got the Bluescreen
it is:
0x0000008e (0xc0000005, 0x804eeead, 0xb9dadb90, 0x00000000)

No Dll's or drivers mentioned at all.

Strangely, on next bootup (which is successful) Windows didnot state anything like it had recovered from a serious system error or whatever it comes up with normally after a bsod?

Try these guys, I have had loads of BSOD's over the years and they seem to know the cause if you post the info as you have done on their forum!

See if you can start the computer in Safe mode - if you can then try restoring the system to a date prior to the windows update using System restore
