Buy 16x , but why 8x max ?

Hi,

I have buy a Sony Vaio PCG-K115S with his burner
for CDR at 16x but in all applications , the max speed is 8x
I have test with a lot of CD, and Burn Application(s),

Does anyone have information about this problem ?

If the writer supports 16x but you can only get 8x, then it may be your CDRs are not capable of being written to at 16x.Check your CDR media and let us know

Thanks for you reply
but i have test with a lot of CDR certified and not certifed from
16x at 48 certified from different manufacturer
(Traxdata, Sony, BASF, Nashua, Verbatim)

The problem is the same is DataCD or AudioCD :slight_frown:

That is VERY strange indeed, maybe the device needs a look at.

I would never burn an audio CD @ > 2x anyway.

8X is the speed for CD-RW write, are you not using that format?

Classical CD-R in Audio or Data. :slight_frown:
