I have recently bought a Vaio Desktop VGC-V2 and have tried to capture video from a VCR via the three wire audio and video phono connections.
When I run Windows Movie Maker and choose Capture Video it tells me that there is no video capture device.
What am I doing wrong?
Is there and easier way:smileysad:
I think you need an iLink cable.
You need to use the recording facility of Vaio Zone or is it Gigapocket?
I had the same problems. If you recorded using Giga Pocket, open giga explorer
This gives the option to export a file
Track where the file went it should be in my video on the c drive
From within MS movie maker, and the same place as capture, you will find an option to import a file
Find the first file, and them MS MM will import it
Most of the last part of the above, is within MS MM help

You need to use GP to do this, Windows Movie Maker doesn't see the GP card.
Damn DRM again
Dear Rob,
I have Vaio-Zone but I see no evidence of a record function. When I first go in the TV tuner searches for channels but I have no antenna attached. It finds no stations.
Can you suggest which part of Vaio-Zone I go to to record from the video-adio inputs?
Thanks

I have Vaio-Zone but don't see a record function. Do I need to have a working antenna attached to get this to initialise correctly?
I have searched for Giga Pocket but get no results?
Thanks
Ed
Ed:
Try putting in an antenna so you can use VAIO Zone.
Else you can capture from DV Gate, select from RCA imputs not iLink.
Try using the TV icon in Vaio Launcher. This should (I think) give you access to the recording function.
I don't have this computer so it is difficult to be more specific.
Not many of us have VAIO Zone either.
