CD drive won't open

Hi.
I´have a little problem with my VAIO. My CD drive refuses it's work completely. On boottime the little lamp is on and then i got no answer from it. I can't even open it.
I tried to delete it in the hardware manager and after reinstalling it still nothing worked.
I have a Matshita UJDA730 in it.
Maybe someone knows help. That would really help me

Do you have Alcohol 120% installed?
If so the eject key doesn't work due to it being assigned to a virtual drive.

No. Alcohol 120% is not on my computer. I had daemon tools installed, deleted it, but there is still no function in my CD drive. Neither the Windows "Eject" button nor the hardware button works.

Install the Sony Hotkey Utility

I would suggest that you look at your power profiles.

IF your computer has this feature, you can force the optical drive to be turned off.
Check the status of this feature. Double click on the icon in the task bar

GO into the EDIT / CREATE profiles and look for "Optical Drive Power Saving". If this is ON, then the drive will not work.

Possibly it will not open, even with a paperclip through the "release" hole.

let us know how you get on
