FE11 Knocking Noise?

I recently bought a FE11S (in the last 2 weeks) and yesterday when the room was quiet, I noticed an intermittent quiet(ish) knocking noise every 5 - 10 seconds. It sounds like its coming from the back left of the laptop, behind the DVD draw. I've tried ejecting the DVD tray and the noise still continues. It seems to start doing it once the machine has been on for 10-15 mins, once it's got warm. Everything is functioning fine, but its really irritating keep hearing this noise if the room is quiet. Does anyone know what this is? Is it normal or should I be taking it back and getting a replacement laptop?

Any suggestions or feedback would be much appreciated.

have you tried the hinge of the screen to see if its loose, this happened on mine i just tightened the screw at the bottom and its grand now

Many owners of the FE11S are experiencing the same issue. It appears to be the hard drive when ideling and parking the read write heads.

No solutution as yet!!
