PCI Sound Card

I have just purchased a VGC-VA1. I have one spare PCI slot where I would like to place a Creative 7.1 surround card. Can anyone tell me how I get to the PCI slots to complete this installation.

Did you check with your manual? It usually has directions of accessing upgradable areas in your VAIO like RAM, additinal HD, etc. Also you might have some conflicts with Sound after installing a second sound card. Your VAIO VA1 is shipped with Sony Reality Sound chip which is pretty good and capable of creating DSD. Good luck!

You won't find any info in the manuals.

Sony specifically say you should not add memory or other internal components yourself to the V series.

You may invalidate your warranty.
