Firewire external hardrive audio interference problem

Hello again!

I've recently installed a WesternDigital external firewire hard drive on my FX802. Truly a fantastic bit of kit, BUT , when I connect my stereo to the headphone output and then access the harddrive I'm getting lots of interference on the audio. Interference that isn't present when using the laptops internal speakers.

I haven't tried moving the pieces of kit with respect to each other yet. Just thought someone may have encountered a similar problem before I start buggering around and calling people.

Any ideas?

Try moving the gear around, see if this helps.
