FLOPPY DRIVE ERROR

When I shut down my Vaio after using the floppy drive I get an error response and the system appears to be looking for a floopy disc. Its getting on my nerves now any ideas please.
I ve got an RS602 with XP home edition.

All Windows Xp computers look for a disk when they shut down, there's no error message..... whats the error message you get?

This used to happen with virus scanners that were set to scan the drive on shutdown. If your AV is set to do this then turn the option off.

McAfee used to do that.
