I don't see Memory Stick listed in My Computer any more. I am running Windows XP Pro.
I have discovered that if I click on CompactFash (H:) this is actually the Memory Stick inserted in the Memory Stick slot!
I have therefore renamed this drive to MemoryStick (H:) but how can I change the icon to a memory stick instead of a CompactFlash?
Cheers,
Calvin.
You need to change the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Dr
iveIcons\X\DefaultIcon where X is your drive to point to the appropriate icon file.
Note that modifying the registry can stop your computer from starting and should only be done if you are sure you know how to do it.
Cheers Rob,
That did the trick. I changed the Default Icon to "%SystemRoot%\snymsico.dll,0". I also changed the DefaultLabel to Memory Stick.
Thanks for your fast response.
Calvin
You obviously know your way around the registry - apologies for putting my standard disclaimer on the end of my first reply
