It is, but it is a bit difficult to get at!

Right... ...this is from memory, so bear with me:

Turn of the VAIO and remove the battery!

On the left hand side of the speaker grill is a small screw, remove it! Slide the speaker grill to the left and upwards, SLOWLY.

Lean the speaker grill against the screen (put something soft in between to avoid scracthes).

Undo the single screw that holds the Keyboard in place, fold this towards you (TAKE CARE NOT TO BREAK THE RIBBON CABLE).

You should now be able to get to the HDD!

Remove it from it's holder (Sled) and interface plate, and replace with the new HDD. Then follow the above in the reverse order (I am not sure how big the HDD can be on your system what OS are you running?, you need a 2.5" HDD!).

Reboot with the recovery CD, adjust partitions, let it all install and your back to factory default!

Ta Da, new (bigger, faster) HDD!

Hope this helps

Of course...

... you could just opt for and external firewire (the FX103 onl;y has USB 1.0 and this would be too slow to use efficiently) HDD.

External HDD's are easy to find on the wbe and should'nt cost much more than a bare drive!
