Can I connect an HD Camera (a Canon Legria) direct to my Vaio laptop, perhaps through the i.link port?
The Canon Legria HF200 has a USB 2.0 interface (DV is not supported) so it will connect direct to your Vaio via a USB Port.
You will need to install HD software to be able to import the video - I believe Canon use their own PIXELA ImageMixer™ 3 SE which is supplied with the camera.
Thanks, but I think you mean that I can import already recorded material. I want to try a direct live connection....
Any thoughts?
I don't think it is possible to stream HD video to your Vaio. Most Vaios do not have a video input so you can only import video files. Vaio laptops cannot act as a display for external devices.
The only exception would be an all-in-one Vaio that has a HDMI input.
You do not tell us which Vaio you own.
