.....ok now I decided. I´ve bought the vaio pocket 40 Gig and now i am really happy. First there was the vaio pocket 20 gig, but i send it, because i wasn`t sure. Now after really hard work with sonic stage, it work really good. Only thing is that its very slow by searching an artist and that it is bigger than the 20 gig vaio. Doesn´t matter. I´m happy! It was the right decision.

Thorin, i just looked at www.sonystyle and SONY claims for both of them the same dimensions!!!

If you look from the side, it is "higher" 4mm perhaps. It looks smoother or light weight...you know what I mean, if you don`t need 40 Gig, I would prefer the 20 Gig. But I mean to know, that I need the 40 Gig.

Well, I'm not sure where but Sony claims at certain sites that the L (40gb) is 3mm (or so) thicker than the 20GB.

I've also bought a vaio pocket, the L - one (40GB).
It's quite a nice device, good sound, good user interface, but I'm not sure if I should send it back, cause it is after all very big, and
the Sonicstage software is crap. Each time I want to start it, Sonicstage wants me to install a certain file (OpenMG Secure.....msi or sth like this), and generally the software's slow (as the player itself is).

Cause the Sony NW-HD1 is also interesting for me....

Just kidding, really...i don´t have any problems with SonicStage, on my machine it´s fast, it converts all my mp3 files fast and runs stable.
As for the PocketVaio...well...i think it´s much better built like many other out incl. iPod.
But take a look at the iPodPhoto....

Hallo du sprichst deutsch...super..also.
Ich hatte einen vaio 20 Gig, hab den aus den selben Gründen zurück geschickt und wußte nicht ob ich den ipod kaufen sollte.
Jetzt habe ich den 40 Gig und bin voll begeistert. Das der dicker ist, ist leider ein kleiner Schönheitsfehler, der mir aber wenn ich den 20 Gig nicht gehabt hätte, nicht aufgefallen wäre.
Mit Sonicstage war es ein wenig Arbeit aber es lohnt sich auf alle Fälle. Falls du schon viele mp3s hast mußt du die ein wenig bearbeiten, dass das alles so kommt wie es kommen sollte. Musik aussuchen tue hauptsächlich auf dem vaio nach Musikstil. Habe so ca. 3000 Songs, dass heißt ne suche nach Interpret ist tödlich lange. Egal der Sound, das Styling, macht echt alles wett und man hat keinen iPod um mit der Welle mit schwimmen zu müssen.

Das sehe ich auch so (ungefähr ;-))
Nun....ich war früher APPLE-FAN....hatte so ziemlich alles wo APPLE draufstand....
Nun ist SONY dran...mal sehen.
Der PocketVaio ist eine echte alternative zum iPod.
