How to use LCD TV as monitor for laptop

Hi.

I own a Sony Vaio notebook.

Is there any way that I can watch the movies I have stored on my PC on the television using some sort of connecting cable?

I'm a little unsure as to what kind of cable I would need, and what slots I would have to use...so any advice is really appreciated.

Every Vaio model has different outputs - if you let us know your model we may be able to help.



EDIT: It would also be useful to know what inputs your TV has.
