Hi vaioForum,
just serach the forum for an detailed description about how to use an Vaio Media Receiver (VGP-MR100) without any Vaios.
Just installed Vaio Media (Version 5.0.00.10180) but , as far as I can see, the VAIO Media Console Software is missing. Therefore I cannot register clients to a server. Actually I dont have a server.
So is there a possibility to access media data within a LAN without having installed VAIO media console?

This is software designed for Vaios by Sony and you want to use it WITHOUT Vaios ... think you answered your own question here.
Or if you would investigate further you would find out that the MR100 is compatible with the DLNA standard, which is even supported by microsoft...

I have exactly the same problem..... Vaio Media on a NO VAIO PC....and also a VGP MR100E !!!
I Would like see a video,picture and listen music stored on my "video server (no VAIO PC)" with my Vaio VGN A217M in wirelles lan by Vaio ZONE.
If someone have some news about this post pls tell me...I'm making creazy!!!!

All you need is Windows Media Connect:
