i can't Write DVD !!!

Hey Guys,
i have Sony Vaio FS115S
i want to write DVD
but when i start to burn my CD !!! my DVD-ROM will be open and show me an error to say : I can't write on this cd !
i try with 2 CD
DVD+R and DVD-R
also i can't create recovery with DVD .. i create recovery with CD !
i have SAME error when i want to create recovery CD with DVD !
is there somebody can help me ??
i buy my laptop just 7 day

i have good news
today i buy SmartBuy DVD+R
and i write DATA on it ! work perfect
i think i know now , why wont work on my CD because my CD is cheap !
hehe
tell me now ! with witch program i can write 9 gig ( + and - ) data on my CD ?

Either Nero or Roxio will do the necessary.
You need dual layer disks, they don¿t come cheap and the write will only be 2.4x speed!

Normally I use only CDs and DVDs from "Intenso". Not the cheapest but good.

I don¿t use Nero, but Roxio Media Creator 7 has dual layer support.
I have not used this feature to date, but I assume that it utilizes blank disk recognition. i.e. if you insert a dual layer disk it will automatically adjust the settings accordingly.
Maybe someone that uses Nero can help further.

Just curious: What is the problem with the Matshita drive? I have one in my VS115Z and had no problems with it yet.
