I have a sony vaio PCG-GRT786M.
With a sony DVD RW DW-U50A.
Can i buy a non sony drive like a pioneer as the sony one will not read dvd's.
i've updated firmware (1.5f)
I also would like a faster drive.(4x at least)
If the drive is dead i would rather replace it with another make as i have only had my laptop for about 18 months and it has been a bit dogey since day one.
