Is it OK to run a VGN-A217S docked with the lid down?

I have an A217S 17" Vaio notebook and am thinking of running it with a desktop LCD monitor and keyboard. Is it OK to leave this machine docked with the lid down or could that give overheating issues?

Thnaks

Hi Gazza I'm having no problems with it  So i don't see any problem Unless you keep your Laptop on a Radiator & plugged directly into your main electricity Network running 1,000,000,000 Volts through it a second it sound be ok  Excuse the sarcasm

Hi Gazza,

As Resonate says plenty of people do this without any problems.

There is a small concern that with the docking station connected and the lid shut, there may be an overheating problem but you can always download MOBILEMETER and keep track of your temperatures.

Yes I would monitor this to see how it goes.

If you're doing video work I advise against leaving it closed as the more CPU usage the more heat is created
