Memory upgrade problem PCG FX108K

Hope someone can help- I've just bought 2 new 256 mb memory modules (crucial), both are fine, as they will both work if inserted into the first slot, but as soon as the other module is inserted into the second slot, the computer wont boot up. They are both marked PC133S-222-542-Z
256MB, SYNCH, 133 MHZ, CL2

Any help would be appreciated

Mick

I don't know what the problem could be, but i know that the primary port is always suppost to contain the larger of the two memorys. anyway, my mate had a similar problem- have you tried swapping them round? try that, and when the VAIO logo comes up, press F2 and check for any errors.

Ah the dreaded second memory slot failure, quite common with the F series and G.

There's a guy in Peterborough which fixes it quite cheaply, you'd have to search VAIO Village (www.vaiovillage.com)
