Hi, Ive had my vaio for quite a while now and i have noticed my C drive is nearly filled and my D drive has lots of space. Is there a way to move some of the space from D drive to C Drive without mucking up my files?
Thanks
tom
I assume you have Vista have a look here and note the restoring files section using your onboard Windows easy transfer in the system tools folder works a treat with any tyope of transfer and keeps the paths an strings intact
I dont have vista
Hi tman16
The Sony way is to use the Vaio recovery tool and at no 10 select C & D Recovery (Change Partition size)..
However all the data on your hard drive(s) will be removed and then your Vaio will be recovered back to the factory settings..
For XP a third party program something like Paragon partition manager should allow you to resize partitions without data loss...
However it's a good idea to back up all important data first..
OR
A quick solution if your My Documents folder uses a lot of space, is to change the Default Location of the My Documents Folder from the C drive to the D drive..
Here is a guide on the process ..
