Network Adaptors

Hi
Just bought a SONY VAIO LAPTOP (MODEL VGN - B3VP)...
Connected all up as i am on Ntl Broadband & was unable to connect to net.
Phoned Ntl & was told NETWORK ADAPTOR IS CORRUPT.
They said it needs uninstalling & reinstalling - - - how do i do this??

Thats a new one to me...

Click Start > Control Panel > System
Click on the hardware tab
click on device manager
click on the + next to network adapters
right click the one which is failing
left click uninstall
Once complete restart your VAIO

Have already tried that - still cant connect via broadband

Have you checked your firewall?

Yeah. If it a Router then it a has a hardware firewall, which protect your PC for incoming Data. You must open the DHCP Port 80. Whithout this open Port = no internet.
