No DVD's play in VAIO Zone

I've tried 3 different DVD's. They all work in different players but when I try it on VAIO Zone I just get this:

And yes I've tried clicking play, play from the start etc. In VAIO Zone it just says F:/ when I click on DVD - there's no DVD name if there is meant to be. No problems in other players e.g. WMP and WinDVD. The DVD is also displayed as in on My Computer.

Any ideas?

I've tried doing various system restores but it makes the problem worse because it renames files and it makes it very buggy and some icons vanish (because 2's are added to the end of the file names). VAIO support are telling me to format the computer which is obviously not a practical option. I unsinstalled and then re-installed and updated but still nothing. It has worked!
