No sound on TV

Why can't I get any sound from my TV when I play BBC Iplayer from my vaio VPCS13V9E. The picture is fine but the sound remains on the laptop.

How are you connecting your Vaio to your TV..:smileyconfused:

Have you checked your audio Playback settings.?

My Vaio is connected via a high quality HDMI cable.

I've checked the audio playback devices and tested the sound on my TV using the tester and it is ok.

Most applications don't allow you to choose between speakers and HDMI sound out etc by themselves.

They simply use the playback device that has been set to 'default' when the application starts.

Set HDMI as default playback device - then start the program that you want to play on your TV.
