Notebook is not shutting down

Gday everyone,

I purchased a VGN-FE21M, with Win Media Edition, and it was working perfect.
Out of career situations I have to use XP Proff. As soon as it was installed the Notebook was no more shutting down, or going into stand by. After clicking on start and shut down etc. I had seen only a blue screen.

From the XP Prof. moment on my FN Key, is also no more working.

What is the reason and a solution for that problems?

Thanks a lot for your support,

Mike

Hi Mike and welcome to Club Vaio.

Did you reinstall all the Vaio Utilities when you installed XP Pro?

Did you download all the Vaio drivers when you installed XP Pro?

Download the Preinstalled Drivers and the Preinstalled Utilities from VAIO-LINK - unzip the Drivers files to a new directory C:\Drivers - unzip the Utilities to a temporary folder and run the installer for each folder in sequence.

Is your sound working?

The reason your Vaio will not shut down is due to a driver conflict. It is probably your Web Camera. There is a Microsoft Hotfix KB 909667 for this problem.
