PCG-Z1XSP Optical Drive not working

Hi,

I have just got a new PCG-Z1XP and everything works fine apart from the optical dirve it will not read even the restore disc or erase or write to discs either there is no firmware update available at this time and list normally under device manager.

I would be greatful for any suggestions

Sounds like the drive's dead, I would ask VAIO-Link for a pickup.
