Problem with ATI IGP 345M card.

Hi there, I bought a PCG-FR215S about a year ago, and was told that it would be suitable to use for both work and games.

I recently bought UnrealTournament2004 and although I can play it, the graphics card has real trouble handling the graphics.

My friend has a much older (and cheaper!!) model that has no problem what-so-ever, even when running full res!

I tried contacting ATI, but I couldn't even find a reference for my card on their site and there don't seem to be any Catalyst upgrades for it. ANd when they did contact me, they weren't too helpful!!

Can anyone help please? CHeers.

I wonder who told you that the graphic card of that machine would be suitable for gaming.

I guess Solitair and Minesweeper are the games to play with that card, but it is certainly not a card to play 3D games - sorry.

As there is no chance to upgrade the graphic card of notebooks, the only thing left for you to do is change the setting of the card to use more system memory.

It should, by default, use 64MB of memory. You can change the setting to 128MB maximum. I don't know if that'll help a lot, but you can give it a shot.

I use my Z1RSP mostly for work, but occasionally play Max Payne 2, which needs a lot of graphics memory.

I find that the game allows me to run a low setting for screen size which helps. There are also a lot of other settings which can be adjusted which also reduce the memory useage.

just a few options adjusted or deleted and the game runs fine, with no hicups. Maybe the same can be doen with Unreal
