problem with audio

hi, i've been having problem with the audio of my sony vaio VGN-FS215Z. i re-installed the op/system after it crashed and the audio has not been working.

Did you run the Vaio recovery utility to re-install the OS.?

Do you see a problem code or icon next to the sound, video & game controllers listed in device manager..?

To open Device Manager, click Start, and then click Control Panel. Click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.

Have you installed the latest Audio update from here ..?
