PROBLEM WITH PCMCIA HARDWARE

I HAVE GOT PROBLEM WITH MY PCMCIA READER IN MY FS-315Z, I BOUGHT PCMCIA MODEM - SONY ERICSSON GC89 EDGE/WLAN TO HAVE MOBILE INTERNET (SIM-CARD INSIDE OF MODEM AND YOU ARE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET 24H) BUT IT DOES NOT WORK, THE PROBLEM IS THAT MODEM NEEDS TO WORK ELECTRICITY OF 3 VOLTAGE, BUT VOLTAGE OF MY PCMCIA HARDWARE IS LOWER, IS ANYBODY KNOW WHAT TO DO PLEASE :slight_smile:

Welcome to Club VAIO Forum.

Your PBMCIA card should get the correct voltage. The slot can supply 3.3 volts or 5 volts depending on the needs of card inserted.

Have you got the latest software for your card? Does Device Manager say that the card is working properly?

You could try going to Device Manager, select your PCMCIA device and uncheck the box that says "Allow Windows to turn off this device to save power" - might help!
