Problems with shut dowm

Hello

Just did a fresh reinstall of my vaio fe21m with windows xp and have problems with shutdown. When I shut down I remain with screen saying windows is shutting down and stays like that forever. Eventually I have to force shutdown by holding the power button.

I have read various suggestions on the web but no solution yet found. Can anyone help me here.

Hi 5efs and welcome to Club Vaio.

Although it could be many things, the usual culprit is the Webcam.

I attach the Hotfix KB909667 below - this only works on English versions of XP. If you are using another language, you may have to use the workaround in the Microsoft link above - Turn off the 'Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power' check box.
