i have at least 30 running processes on my computer. why so many can anyone help

You're lucky joffvaio - I've just checked mine and I have 53 running!

Most of these are system processes needed by Windows, your ISP and other installed applications.

You can stop unneeded processes and programs running but I would recommend you don't try to do this manually - download the free trial version of TUNE-UP UTILITIES and let it optimise your system for you!
