I finally got a slimdock for my R600, as I need to get Windows back on it (its got a replacement hard disk)
Its not booting. CD-ROM is set at the top in the boot options, removable devices second (as it is removable...). But its not booting
I've tried both the Vaio-Link restore discs and my own store-bought XP discs. Its also ignoring BeOS and Linux discs.
Sony aren't willing to talk to me without a credit card number (unlike Dell, who give eternal phone support). Any ideas?
Can you use the Floppy disk? Starts the CD or is the CD not recognize?
BTW: What says e-support?

CD drive spins up, machine skips to the netboot monitor - its not reading or ignoring the disks
E-Support has never given me a working login - link to activate account is completely corrupted.
Mmmh, I have no idea.:smileysad: Maybe the guys from VAIO-Village can help better.

Posted at Vaio Village but that site looks extremely dead...
Right, I am an idiot. Went into the BIOS to reenable the printer/serial/floppy which I'd disabled for IRQ starvation reasons on a narky BeOS R4 install... found I'd turned off i.LINK boot.. Doh.
