Hi, I have a new VGN-AR21S notebook. Well when I saw it had an S-VIDEO IN port on the side I thought I would hook up my old Sony Analogue Video Recorder and digitise some old Hi8 tapes.
Well I could really do with some help here. All the bundled software seems to only be built to work with a digital video camera. The closest I have got is in settings in Media Center I can set up the TV channel and select S-Video and I can see the live image from my video recorder. However the wizard will not complete (something to do with requiring an IR cable for the set top box (that I'm not using!) and so I cannot get to record the video being shown.
Any ideas on the make / model of the tuner card in this laptop?
And is it an analogue video card?
Many thanks for any pointers on this.....I am all googled out on this too. Got nowhere.
