shuffle play

Just bought my VAIO VGF-AP1L. My kid Brother just bought an iPod so thought I would buy Sony to be different. Trouble is I thought that the Sony unit was capable of playing my entire library of tracks in a random sequence, all I can manage to get the unit to do though is to play an individual album in random order not the entire contents of the unit. Is this possible, or am I going to have to bow to my kid bro's hugely inflated superiority complex and get an iPod instead?

Any comments would be welcomed.

Ok, i had trouble with this too!

All you have too do is select shuffle then pick a song.

If you want too have all the songs shuffled and played which is on your VAIO pocket, then you must select the song(s) from the 'list all songs' section.

If you want all the songs shuffled and played from a certain album, then you must select shuffle then pick a song from that certain album.

Same for Artist etc etc!

This always much greater selections.

B.T.W, hope you enjoy your Vp, forget about IPOD's they are basic, boring, common and well (AM) hardware, enough said?
