Sony Firmware Extension Parser is missing a driver

I have reinstalled vista (clean install) but an unknown device is shown in device manager and the windows problem/solution displays the above. Does anyone know where I can download the missing driver for a vaio VGN-C1SP since it isn't shown on the list of downloadable drivers for the model

Hi alfin3621 and welcome.

I think SFEP was called "SonyNC" (Sony Notebook Control Driver) when XP was installed - you should find it in the Preinstalled Drivers download for your model here: -

Alternatively, you can download it from the downloads page for the VGN-C2SP which has a similar specification to your VGN-C1SP but was sold with Vista preinstalled.

For the VGN-C2S/P you will find it in the Preinstalled Drivers section: -

This driver will have to be installed from within Device Manager by using 'Have Disc' and pointing the installer to the file SonyNC.inf.
