Sony lied about spec!!!!!! MY usb ports are not 2.0 like it should be on sony spec!!!!

I have a GRT816S and Understand that it comes with a USB2 port but they all seem to transfer at 1.1 speed. Why?

So I bought a pcmcia usb 2 belkin adaptor and that works fine transfer at high speed yet when I try using my laptop ports it transfer at 1.1 speed >:(.

My laptop is a year old what can I do? can I still complain to sony?

Thanks

It states on the user manual that I have full speed ports.

Full speed only supports transfer rates of 12 Mbits/second, whereas Hi-speed is capable of speeds of up to 480 Mbits/second.
As far as I am aware you model should support Hi-speed.

Anyway got around to downloading everest home edition

When I high light "mother board chipset sis 648" it gives me a drop box with product info and driver downlaod.

But when I click on driver download it takes me to :http://download.sis.com/

On the web browser it says :

Eugene is correct. You will find the SIS USB driver in the Northbridge folder of the original drivers package. Download here.
You should also find them on your hard drive at C:\Drivers or on your recovery disk.

You've done nothing wrong, it's the sysadmin who has

The best way to to reinstall the USB drivers is to download/acquire the correct drivers. Delete the controllers from device manager. Restart the computer. Press F2 to enter the BIOS before Windows starts. Reset the BIOS to it's default settings then save & exit. Allow the computer to fully reboot into Windows. Reinstall using the previously downloaded drivers.

If you have a usb 1 device connected then it will cause all other usb ports to act as usb 1 ports instead of usb2 ports
