Sony Vaio (VPCF11C5E) keeps on rebooting on its own, been in repair 4 times still not fixed! :(

This happens a lot, especially when I am playing a video of any kind.  Dosen't matter what player I use, it will play fine for a few minutes somtimes up to an hour or more, but then suddenly the sound goes funny for few seconds and the system reboots on its own!  I have sent this into repair 4 times now but all they seem to do is run diagnostics dont find anything wrong and send it back :smileysad:.

Anyone else has similar problems?

It sounds like an overheating problem that will only show itself under a heavy load.

Try downloading a utility program which monitors CPU and GPU temperatures and see if either are overheating.  Something like PC Wizard 2010 should do the trick.

Have you checked that the air vents are unobstructed and you are not using the Vaio on a soft surface like a bed - this will block the vents.

Do you get a Blue Screen just before it reboots?
