Sony VGN-B1XP Corporate 3 year warrenty or not ?

I have just purchased my Sony B1XP and at the dealer he said that it comes with a free 3 year corp warrenty upgrade and all I needed todo was call Sony with my VAT number. However I have tried various numbers (customer services, pre and post sales) and none of them have even heard of this offer ? Anyone else tried to register for this offer ?

Try asking for VAIO Plus cover, then they might understand.

I did ask for that but they said (Sony) I had to pay extra for that. I was told that the B series had this included as standard

Well what I would do is say to them, listen, the paperwork said it came as standard and I can prove this to you if needs be.

Stand your ground, and remind them it's illegal to make false claims in their paperwork.

I think you'll find that the Cnet review refers to the US market. The Sony literature that I've seen in Europe says that the warranty is 1 year (2 years in Germany)

You will have to speak to the retailer as it would appear that they are the ones who have given you incorrect information.
