VGN-A297XP Memory Upgrade

Hi,
What is the maximum memory upgrade for the A297XP laptop?

I've read it goes to 1024 MB maximum in some places and others suggest 2048 MB.

Which is correct?

Crucial sell 1GB modules too and seem to think its 2048 max.

Crucial seem to know what they're doing.
Anyway why would you require 2GB? 3D work? Huge videos to edit?

I think it's 2048MB. If Crucial say it's 2048MB and it doesn't work then you can return the memory to them under their warranty.

I'll just go for the extra 512 for now anyway... good to clarify for possible future upgrades though!

The 512s are better VFM at the moment. I'd personally give the 1GB chips a miss till the price drops a bit - unless I absolutely needed them.
