my broadband cable got pulled out of the port and it snapped a little bit of plastic so it no longer clips in to the socket, but it still works perfect by sellotaping the cable in place, rang sony and they wanted £326 to repair it. can you believe it? £326 for a bit of plastic and they tried blaggin me that it needs a whole new board but it doesnt cos it still works, it needs a new bit of plastic surround. Anyway im gonna go elsewhere to get it fixed. I really liked sony before this happened but no more, that is definitely not the way to get customers. The will lose out cos im spending £1400 on a new laptop soon and it wont be sony purely cos of that reason.
this is scary! but its a sony!
That's Sony for you. They don't sell spare parts like that as far as I know, they will only repair or replace.
I'm not suprised at all, Sony would rather waste resources instead of fix a surrounding on a socket.
Go wireless. Cost you £99 for a 801.g card and router/adsl modem.
