Can all you boffins out there help me speed up my vaio VGN FE21B'S boot time , it takes for ever to start up?:smileycry:
Do you have alot of processes and applications that execute on startup?
Try downloading a trial of Tune Up Utilities. You could have a look in serivces, but Tune Up has a startup manager that lets you choose what runs at startup.
Also you may find this Services Guide handy to determine which services are essential to the smooth running of your system and which are unnecessary.
EDIT: where are my manners:smileyblush: Welcome to the forum caddiezn.
Curses! Yes, Welcome!
When you say forever, how long are we talking?
If it's just a bit slow, then use Bootvis. Not sure if you can still download as MS took it off, but it's the ultimate tool for reducing boot time and boot optimisation.
If it's a case of minutes to start up, it's likely a system service is failing. See event viewer (start > run > eventvwr) for errors relating to service startup failures. This is the most common cause.
