Swap P4 processor to centrino?

Hi, i've got a vaio pcg-k315m with P4 proc,but it's draining my battery.is there a way to change the P4 socket so it would fit a centrino processor? email

Not possible.

The true definition of Centrino is this:

Intel 855 Chipset
Mobile Pentium M Processor
Intel PRO Wireless Lan Card (pre-installed)

You would do more damage than good to change the CPU and chipset on a working mainboard.

To get better battery life:

If you want to go wireless, add a PCMCIA WiFi card to your computer, and pick a card that uses the IEEE 802.11g standard as opposed to the older IEEE 802.11b standard which is slower. Note that wireless uses a lot of battery life so remove this card when it is not in use, and heed Sony's warning - do not apply pressure to the head of the PC Card whilst it is in the slot (i.e. the bit sticking out of the slot) because it damages the pins.

no, you can´t.

sorry for that, but notebooks are not build like normal pcs, where you can exchange all parts easily.

Some CPUs are now even soldered on in notebooks.
