I am looking to retrive the 5-6gb of hdd space taken up with the unseen recovery partition, I have created 4 recovery dvd`s (just in case) I now feel happy to claw back the extra space on the hdd, anything I need to know? Thans very much

Here is the official Sony guide for deleting the special recovery partition.

If you use Partition magic ensure you backup files first.
