Hello to all, I have couple of questions for Vaio proffessionals.
1.First of all we purchased some vaio lappies recently,
one of them is TR2MP. also we purhased memory upgrade for it PCGA-MM512U (like it says in additional accessories).Unfortunately laptop refuses to work with 1GB RAM !!! It works with 512MB in one slot or another slot, it works with new memory which I purchased, but it just doesn't work with both memories at a time.... So I think it has limit 512MB RAm (couldnt find info @ sony websites regarding this)

I have a bad feeling your second memory slot may have died, but this isn't as common with the TR series.
You have tried other RAM, so it's not the RAM to blame here.
2.I have GRT996VP with docking station and additional 768MB RAM and GRT916Z. I use 996VP and would like to upgrade it with P4 3.06HT GHZ CPU from 916z, can I do it myself?( some hardware profs told me that it's a very complicatedt process in GRT series, does anybody have an experience?) OR maybe its easier for me just to exchange HDD between them, so I can keep Win XP all my settings and installed soft in 916Z with Pentium 3.06 ???
Hmmm I wouldn't personally, it's not easy to do, and there's a high chance the P4 HT won't work in that model. Its a LOT easier to exchange hard disk.
