Transfer Problems

Hi

A few days ago I Bought a VaioPocket (Europe Version of 40GB)

But now I have a big Problem : I Can't transfer any music to the player.
When I want to transfer my mp3 "Album" in sonic stage sometimes the
message : "cannot convert the specified track. Sonic Stage does not
support the file format of the track......(list of tracks)..." comes
and sometimes the message "The tracks cannot be transferred to the
device/media. The remaining transfer count is zero".

When I use Vaio music transfer, the message " An error occured while
conversion. Unknown error occured." comes.

So My player is still blank.
Before I bring the player back I wanted to ask your for help.
I hope you can help me.

Thanks

have you downloaded the update for windows from vaio-link?
i think that's where your problem is
go to http://www.vaio-link.com/vaiopocket/downloads.asp?l=en
and at the bottom of the page click "Microsoft update that resolves problems........"
i hope this helps!!

maybe you should upgrade sonicstage to v2.3, which you can get from their website... or (i'm runnig out of ideas here!) just try uninstalling everything, and i mean the WHOLE thing, including the sony usb device in "Universal Serial Bus controllers" from device manager...
then install everything again... i'm sorry, thats the bet i can come up with, i hope someone else can help!

Well actually i have the same problem, but i found out a weird way to solve it (at least it works for some mp3s... i'm waiting the new firmware hope it'll get easier to transfert mp3 as promised:smileyconfused: )

Just reencode your mp3, and try again. Sometimes SonicStage will recognise the file, but if u try to upload it twice it'll refuse it again, it's kinda unpredictable:smileygrin: *yes SonicStage is the worst*

Karimbo,
What exact format are your mp3's in?

CBR and less than 320K bit rate i hope....
Also avoid semicolons in track titles.

Automan.
