V2S Upgrade to DVB Tuner

I have a VGC-V2S and would like to upgrade its built-in TV tuner to a Digital one. It will need to work with the TVTV software for automated recording, which rules out an external box. Any ideas?

Hi Jon and welcome to ClubVAIO Forum!

Unfortunately, at the present time, Vaio Zone will not support any DVB-T tuners. The new Vaios that do have a DVB-T TV Tuner all run on Windows Media Centre Edition.

Sony uses the AverMedia Hybrid PCI Card but to use it in your Vaio, you would need to rum the AverMedia software or upgrade to Windows MCE.

Thanks for your 'non commercial' response Blencogo.
Is it easy to fit a PCI card in the V2S? (I am an IT pro but I've never openned the case on this Vaio. My previous Vaio desktops have all been too tightly packed to play around with.)

You can store that idea where the sun doesn't shine
There is no way you can install your own hardware inside the V, W or M series desktops. The space is to cramped...

Thought as much. Perhaps I should buy another Vaio!
Thanks for your help anyway..
