Vaio FS315M Audio jitters

On September I had problem with the system speed and audio jitters. I do a system restore and all work fine until last week when the problem reappear.

In the Vaio Knowledge Base I found an article that describe my problem:
It is caused by the HDD controller that run in PIO mode instead
of DMA mode.

I tryed to switch to DMA mode but it does not work.
I have not make changes to my system or installed any new application.
I don't want to restore the system every month, so anyone know
the cause/solution to this problem?

Thanks,
Andrea

Found the solution!

IDE controller work in PIO mode only and there is no way to change it.

Problem shoud be due to Windows XP HDD Compression feature enabled for C: hard drive.

or can be solved removing IDE controller from installed devices and make Windows reinstall in in next reboot.

I don't know what cause the problem between these two options since I fix them at the same time.
