vaio laptop battery

I have a vaio laptop for about 3 years, the battery life has only ever lasted about 15 minute, but no it last about 45 sec before the computer switches off. I have adjusted the power alarm but the batter is registering about 70% but it still switches off. Do I need a new battery or is it the computer at fault. I have been told that some laptops have a hidden prgramme to re juvenate batteries. Anyone had similar problems:smileyconfused:

You need a new battery.
They never really last > 1 1/2 years

yeh, i bought my k series 9 months ago and since the beginning, when running on batteries..it suggests that it has 2 hours of battery life remaining but it never really lasts longer than half an hour.. which is kinda rubbish considering its a laptop
